It is dierected by Gary Ross and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Herrelson and Elizabeth Banks. Production began in May 2011 and the movie will be released on the 23rd March 2012.Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth ave all signed contracts for all 4 movies in the series and the film adaptation of the next book (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) is set to be released on the 22nd November 2013.
